Lisa Rafeal Design
After graduating from art school, Lisa worked as an Art Director for Foote Cone & Belding. There, she art directed and designed numerous advertisements which included the London Underground, Colgate Palmolive, Jamaican Tourist Board, Selfridges Department Store, Dan Air Airlines and Fujitsu.

Upon returning to the United States in 1991, Lisa was hired as Art Director by the Washington D.C. advertising firm of Schramm & Associates, as Art Director. She was responsible for the Hyatt Hotel account and designed newspaper advertisements, brochures and promotional materials. She also designed for Congressional Quarterly Inc. (CQ) and served as the in-house Graphic designer/Art Director for Georgetown University Medical Center. She designed recruitment posters, which were distributed throughout the United States.

In 1993, Lisa moved to Chicago where she became become Package Design Manager in the Package Design Department for Quaker Oats. In this capacity, she had the opportunity to redesign, art direct, and manage projects for Quaker Rice Cakes, Aunt Jemima, Golden Grain Mission, Van Camps and Wolfe Brand Chili. Later, she worked as Creative Supervisor at Helene Curtis in Chicago where she designed, art directed, and managed client brands such as Suave, Finesse, and Degree deodorant.

In 1996, Lisa moved to Los Angeles. There she was hired as Art Director for Let's Live Magazine & Nutrition Insights, a GNC Publication. She was responsible for the art direction and design of both the U.S. and U.K. versions of the magazine. From Let's Live, she was recruited by Gaiam to be Senior Art Director. At Gaiam, she art directed and designed their catalog as well as their yoga video covers. While at Gaiam, she taught Graphic Design at the Otis School of Design.

Lisa has freelanced extensively. Some of her clients include DDB Needham, Lowell House Publishing, the Keebler Company, Lucky Bakery, National Photographic Collection and Neutrogena.

Since moving to the Bay Area in 2001, her clients have included Tiny Tots, Menlo Ventures, Moon Struck Chocolate, National Photographic Collection and University of San Francisco. She also offers personalized birthday packages for children inspired by three of her own.

Lisa's experience encompasses a wide range of art direction and design for advertisements, package design, promotional materials and publications. She has managed outside vendors including design firms, photographers and illustrators and has art-directed photo shoots in studios and on location. She has also been responsible for casting, project management, development and coordination. Lisa is fully conversant in Apple Macintosh Systems - she currently works on the latest iMac and is coversant in iMovie. She is knowledgeable in all the latest Adobe systems, which includes the Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. She is up-to-date on Quark 7.3 and knows production and pre-press requirements.
